Embassy Apartments in Salt Lake City

the names of Apartment buildinGS make a bold statement!

All vintage apartment buildings in downtown Salt Lake City were given names to capture the imagination. Some made European references, such as the Piccardy, the La France, the Marquette, or the Normandy. Others were named after characters in literature such as Lorna Doone, Annie Laurie, or Barbara Worth. The most common type of apartment name is a surname, such as Bigelow, Woodruff, Stratton, Ruby, or Sampson. Most were depicted in creative signs with neon. Some of the apartment names are just plain fabricated - such as Armista or Bell Wines --which is a delightful combination of the surnames from the builders, Hazel Bell and Stanley Wines, who also happened to be husband and wife.
